Construction environmental management and compliance
Yarta Environmental is an Aboriginal-owned environmental consultancy supporting civil contractors through the post-approval and construction phases of infrastructure projects.
Practical, embedded support that resolves issues on site.
Why choose Yarta
Post-approval requirements are detailed, complicated and sometimes more than a project really needs. They put extra strain on delivery teams who are already flat out. We take that load off.
Before you start
Before you win the job, we identify the environmental risks and costs so they're priced in, not found later as delays or stand-downs. Once you're awarded, we get the management plans in place to meet works-to-proceed on time.
On site
We handle the compliance requirements, pick up issues early and work with your crews to sort them before they become incidents, non-compliances or EPA enforcement action. We do the monitoring too, so your team stays on delivery.
What we do
We prepare CEMPs and sub-plans that address the conditions of approval and REF or EIS mitigation measures, then work with your site team to implement, inspect, monitor and manage incidents through to completion.
Day shift or night works, metro or regional. We go where the job is.
Management plans
CEMPs and sub-plans written to your project's approval requirements and set up to get works-to-proceed signed off quickly. Soil and water, noise and vibration, waste, flora and fauna, and heritage. Where a plan needs specialist input, like ecology or acoustics, we bring in trusted specialists and manage them for you, so you still have one point of contact.
Site inspections
Regular inspections to keep controls working and the job compliant. Issues logged, sorted with your crews and closed out.
Monitoring
Noise, vibration and water quality monitoring, including night works and testing before discharge. Done by us, so your crews don't have to.

Our name
Yarta means land, earth or Country in the Kaurna language.
Our logo shows the ranges of South Australia from above, with a track walking through Country. Its colours come from the red earth, the desert pea, and the streams and billabongs that run across the land.
It's a reminder of what the work is about: building a better Australia, while looking after the Country it's built on.
